Based just outside of Indianapolis, IN, we are passionate about creating memorable events and are seeking a qualified Audio Engineer – System Technician to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary:
As an Audio Engineer – System Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our events. You will collaborate with our design team and be involved in all stages of event production, including design, equipment preparation, load-ins, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and loadouts. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of show production, including experience with digital control surfaces, show preparation, rigging PA systems, and show implementation.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert audio reinforcement for live events, ensuring world-class sound quality.
Execute assigned show tasks, such as rigging PA systems, stage patching, monitor mixing, and front-of-house mixing.
Prepare and quality control audio equipment for events, ensuring all gear is in optimal working condition.
Participate in the loading and unloading of equipment at the warehouse and event sites.
Assist with the installation of permanent audio systems.
Transport equipment to and from event locations as needed.
Perform minor warehouse maintenance tasks, including trash removal and cleaning.
Requirements:
Valid High School Diploma
3 years of professional audio experience
Proficiency in operating large format digital audio consoles
Demonstrated experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of professional audio systems
Experience in deploying modern PA systems, including line arrays
Strong technical and computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft, Apple, and A/V software
Solid understanding of electricity and power management
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain an Indiana “For Hire” license endorsement for commercial vehicles
Preferred Qualifications:
College degree
5-10 years of audio experience with large format line array and drive systems
Proficiency in RF analysis and radio frequency management using tools such as Wireless Workbench
SMAART certification or equivalent
L-Acoustics Certified Technician
Excellent communication skills
Ability to acquire and maintain a valid government-issued passport
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Ability to climb stairs and work at elevated heights.
Willingness to work in environments with moderate to loud noise levels.
This position requires a regular Monday through Friday schedule with the possibility of Saturday and Sunday hours, as well as travel with varying durations depending on event schedules.
